Antiviral Activity of Quercetin-3-Glucoside Against Non-Polio Enterovirus
نویسندگان
چکیده
Non-polio enteroviruses (NPEVs) are primary causative agents of aseptic meningitis, encephalitis, hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD), myocarditis in infants children immunocompromised individuals. However, there no approved treatments for NPEVs. It has been reported that flavonoids abundantly found plants have antiviral activities. In this study, we explored the potential quercetin-3-glucoside (Q3G), a natural flavonoid, against NPEVs such as coxsackievirus A16 B3 (CVA16 CVB3), enterovirus 71 (EV71), human rhinovirus 1B (HRV 1B). Q3G showed potent activity CVA16, CVB3, EV71, HRV1B by suppressing expression viral RNA at early stages infection. Therefore, inhibits replication cycle may provide an essential alternative treating HRV1B.

Antiviral activity of ginsenosides against coxsackievirus B3, enterovirus 71, and human rhinovirus 3
BACKGROUND Ginsenosides are the major components responsible for the biochemical and pharmacological actions of ginseng, and have been shown to have various biological activities. In this study, we investigated the antiviral activities of seven ginsenosides [protopanaxatriol (PT) type: Re, Rf, and Rg2; protopanaxadiol (PD) type: Rb1, Rb2, Rc, and Rd)] against coxsackievirus B3 (CVB3), enterovir...

Ebola outbreaks occur on a frequent basis, with the 2014-2015 outbreak in West Africa being the largest one ever recorded. This outbreak has resulted in over 11,000 deaths in four African countries and has received international attention and intervention. Although there are currently no approved therapies or vaccines, many promising candidates are undergoing clinical trials, and several have h...
متن کاملAntiviral effect of matrine against human enterovirus 71.
Human enterovirus 71, a member of the Picornaviridae family, is one of the major causative agent of hand, foot and mouth disease in children less than six years old. This illness has caused mortalities in large-scale outbreaks in the Asia-Pacific region in recent years. No vaccine or antiviral therapy is available. In this study, antiviral effect of matrine against enterovirus 71 were evaluated...
متن کاملAntiviral activity of Paulownia tomentosa against enterovirus 71 of hand, foot, and mouth disease.
The bark, leaves, and flowers of Paulownia trees have been used in traditional Chinese medicine to treat infectious and inflammatory diseases. We investigated the antiviral effects of Paulownia tomentosa flowers, an herbal medicine used in some provinces of P. R. China for the treatment of skin rashes and blisters. Dried flowers of P. tomentosa were extracted with methanol and tested for antivi...
متن کاملIn Vitro Efficacy of Antiviral Compounds against Enterovirus D68.
In 2014, the United States experienced a large outbreak of severe respiratory illness associated with enterovirus D68 (EV-D68). We used a homogeneous, cell-based assay to assess the antiviral activity of compounds developed for EV/rhinovirus infection or other indications. Three of 15 compounds were highly active against all four strains tested (the prototype and three 2014 strains), with 50% e...
